The Wine

A selection of grapes grown on Tenuta La Fuga, Le Due Sorelle Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is produced exclusively in the best vintages. After a long maceration on the skins in steel tanks, this Sangiovese rests for 5 years in oak barrels. This wine is a tribute to Giovanna and Fabia Cornaro, respectively wife and sister-in-law of Ambrogio Folonari and both owners of the Estate.
Tasting: The 2017 vintage reveals an abundance of extremely complex smells ranging from tea to plum and notes of cedar and tobacco. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that maintain the wine taste for a long time.

Pairing: Villa di Nozzole suggests to pair it with Tuscan pecorino with truffle aged for 30 months and pumpkin mustard
First vintage: 1997
Shelf life: over 30 years
Curiosity: the wine’s name is a tribute to two sisters: Fabia Cornaro dell’Acqua and Giovanna Cornaro Folonari, the latter wife of Ambrogio and mother of Giovanni
