The Wine

The owner’s reserve. A wine strongly wanted by Giovanni Folonari to order to represent his idea of Gran Selezione. Only Sangiovese grapes from Tenuta di Nozzole and the return to tradition through the use of large seasoned woodenbarrels, a typical Tuscan aging method. Numbered bottles and a limited production.
Tasting: the 2018 vintage is characterised by a ruby red colour with purple nuances; hints of ripe cherry, peach, liquorice and dried red currant in addition to notes of nutmeg up to ethereal aromas such as wax, incense and powder. Elegant and majestic taste. Full-bodied and spacious wine, silky tannins and a spice finish. Pleasant cinchona as a bittering touch and excellent balance.

Pairing: Villa di Nozzole suggests it with tagliatelle spread with the rolling pin and San Miniato white truffle
First vintage: 2013
Shelf life: up to 15-20 years
