The Wine

Tuscan Pinot noir. In the highest vineyards of Casa di Sala Estate in Panzano in Chianti, Ambrogio
and Giovanni Folonari have been growing Pinot Nero grapes since the mid-1980s. Here Black was born, in a pedo- climatic environment particularly suited to the cultivation of this vine in name of the Chianti area.
The 2020 vintage presents itself on the nose with aromas of red fruit, pomegranate, Mediterranean scrub and spicy nuances. On the palate it is decisive, intensely fresh, direct with a perfect balance between tannins and acidity. Balsamic, long and dry and perfectly harmonious finish.
Pairing: excellent if paired with haute cuisine special dishes or it can simply be enjoyed with friends.
First vintage: 2006
Shelf life: Up to 10 years
Curiosity: Black is the result of a great dream of Ambrogio Folonari after his many trips to Burgundy
