Rosso di Montalcino is made from grapes grown on only one hectare of vineyard located in the youngest parcel of Tenuta la Fuga. The short aging in seasoned oak barrels and tonneaux gives life to an expression of Sangiovese enhanced by a generous fruity and floral bouquet with spiced and wooden notes.
Tasting: The 2020 vintage is characterised by a bright ruby red colour, which gives clear aromas of red fruits, vanilla, Mediterranean spices and Apennine aromatic herbs. A ready to drink wine thanks to its alcoholic balance and pleasantly rich in sweet and silky tannins; youthful with notes of elegant woods and soft ripe red pulp fruits. A sensory profile that persists in the mouth for a long time, with a fascinating light aftertaste of chocolate.
Pairing: Villa di Nozzole suggests to pair it with Pici pasta and pigeon ragout
First vintage: 2002
Shelf life: over 10 years
Curiosity: wine made, by winery choice, from a part of grapes destined for the production of Brunello
