Tenute Folonari are led by Giovanni Folonari and his father Ambrogio, respectively in the role of President and Honorary President. Giovanna Cornaro, Ambrogio’s wife is the owner of the two Charming Relais, respectively Borgo del Cabreo and Pietra del Cabreo, and Tenuta La Fuga, three facilities of which she oversaw the redevelopment. Francesca and Angelica Folonari, Giovanni’s sisters, are involved in the company activities and in particular with the management and development of accommodation structures.
President of Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, in 1989 he graduated in Oenology, Viticulture and Fermentation Sciences at UC Davis in California. In the same year he completed his training taking care of the Research and Microvinification branch for the Robert Mondavi Winery in California. Since 2000, he first held the role of Sales Manager for foreign countries of Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, giving rise to the development of new markets, and later, that of Chief Executive Officer. On May 2017, he has replaced his father as leader of the company and, since then, the process of substantial innovation started by Ambrogio Folonari, continues.
Honorary President of Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, in 2000 he founded the company together with his son Giovanni, now President, aiming at the enhancement of owned estates and the production of high-quality wines. Born in 1930 into a family that has been operating in the wine sector for at least two centuries, Ambrogio graduated from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in Florence and, after completing his studies, immediately dedicated himself to the historic family business, also holding prestigious roles in associations and major academies in the wine sector over time.
